If you did not realize that the West Indies are not in the World Cup later this year in India, please pinch yourself. Yes folks, it’s the harsh reality of life. From being World Cup 50 over champions in 1975 and 1979 to not even being part of the 2023 World Cup is basically a slap in the face. All West Indian fans kept asking themselves if things could get any lower for the regional side and unfortunately it did. In professional sports, there are specific players who are simply overrated. More often it is not a true reflection of their talents as an athlete and this goes for Cricket as well. Overestimated Cricketers are based on one’s opinion, but more often than not, statistics do not lie. It should be well noted that the word ‘overestimated’ or ‘overrated’ does not mean the individual is ‘inferior’ or ‘substandard’. It just means that the player is arguably credited out of proportion in correlation to his escapades as an International Cricketer.      What a final it was! Mumbai Indians are the 2019 IPL Champions. For a record 4th time they were victorious against Chennai Super Kings by 1 run on Sunday May 12th 2019. It was the 2nd time in 3 years, believe it or not, that they won the final by 1 run. They were the most efficient, well-rounded team this year with a good balance of fast and slow bowlers. England were in the Caribbean for two months with our white sandy beaches and clear blue waters to enjoy in-between. Finally this tour has ended for the tourists on a high. After a disappointing Test series lost to the Windies 2-1 and then sharing the honors 2-2 in the ODI series, England whitewashed the home side 3-0 in the T20 International series. Having demolished the West Indies in the final leg of the tour with the T20 series victory, it just goes to show that this form of cricket cannot be taken for granted.
